The reason I didn’t stick with the wing idea is for a few reasons. Firstly, another was using wings to create a swan-like character and I didn’t want it to be too alike. Secondly I found working with wood quite hard as it wasn’t something I was used to, whereas I have worked with fabric on numerous occasions and decided that that is how I wanted to make my costume. Finally, the idea of a wolf-girl came to me and my mind was made up, so obviously the wing idea was immediately scrapped.
